Estate Planning to protect you, your assets, and your loved ones

A professionally written Will gives you peace of mind that your loved ones, property, and wishes are taken care of.

Empowering Clients through Legal Expertise

Estate planning isn’t just about documents, it’s about making sure your family are protected, your wishes are clear, and your future is secure.

Wills

A Will is a legal document that sets out what should happen to your money, property, and possessions after you die.

It allows you to name your beneficiaries, appoint guardians for children, and ensure your wishes are followed. Without a valid Will, the law decides who inherits – which might not be what you want.

Writing a Will gives you control, protects your loved ones, and helps avoid unnecessary stress or disputes.

Lasting Powers of Attorney

An LPA is a legal document that lets you appoint someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you lose the ability to do so yourself.

There are two types: one for health and care decisions, and one for property and financial matters.

Setting up LPAs ensures your wishes are respected and avoids the need for costly, time-consuming court applications if something unexpected happens.

Probate

Probate is the legal process of dealing with someone’s estate after they’ve died. It involves confirming the Will (if there is one), valuing assets, paying any debts or tax, and distributing what’s left to the rightful beneficiaries.

For many families, it can feel overwhelming – especially at a difficult time. We offer clear guidance and, if needed, a full probate service to take care of everything on your behalf, giving you peace of mind that it’s all being handled properly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of our FAQs

Do I need more than just a Will?

In most cases, yes. A Will handles what happens after you die – but LPAs and Trusts can protect you and your family during your lifetime too.

Can you help with Inheritance Tax planning?

Yes, we’ll help you understand what your potential liability is and whether there are ways to reduce it.

Is this just for older people?

Not at all. Life can be unpredictable, and planning early gives you the most protection and peace of mind.

What happens if I don’t make an estate plan?

If you die without a valid Will, your estate will be distributed according to the laws of intestacy – which may not reflect your wishes. Without LPAs, no one can legally act on your behalf if you lose capacity, meaning your family may need to apply to the Court of Protection, which is time-consuming and costly.

Can I update my Will or LPA if things change?

Yes. We recommend reviewing your estate plan regularly – especially after major life changes like marriage, divorce, children, or buying property. We offer a review service to make sure your documents always reflect your current wishes.

How long does the process take?

Most Wills and LPAs can be completed in 2 to 4 weeks, depending on your availability and the complexity of your estate. We’ll keep things as simple and efficient as possible, while giving you all the support you need along the way. Please note that LPA registrations can take longer due to the Office of the Public Guardian.
